I had an excellent blog post planned for this morning but as it sometimes does, life got in the way.
There is a limited amount of my day that I can wander into my toasty warm office and sit down at my computer to do whatever I want to do. This morning I lost a good chunk of that time getting the pictures off my camera, there were more than 1,000 on there and they needed to be sorted and archived onto the portable drive. Y’all I kid you not, there were more than 600 pictures of my dogs. I love my dogs and all but really? Did I actually take that many pictures of them. Yes, I did….In all fairness a huge number of those were the twins when they were still babies and totally adorable.
Once I got through the pictures I started messing around with the layout of the blog. All I wanted was a nice pretty widget that allows you guys to post it to your Facebook or to Twitter. All of the built-in widgets are ugly (I apologize for that, by the way) so I went looking for the HTML code to add my own. Most of what I found required actual programming skills, which I lack, or some incredibly odd instruction that made as much sense as stereo instructions in Japanese. Seriously, how hard can this be? Apparently more difficult than I am capable of dealing with on a Monday. I am considering looking for another blog site and yes, WordPress is on my list. If I can find one that is more streamlined and user-friendly I will make the switch since I don’t have a whole lot invested in this one yet. If anyone has any other suggestions, definitely let me know. I would like to get it handled as soon as possible to minimize the hassle for all of us.
I apologize that you will have to wait for my planned post, it’s a good one! I have a gazillion things that still need to get done today and the time is racing past so I am off to clean up and make a few more messes in the interest of sharing the experience.
